Social Engineering

What is Social Engineering?

Chris Hadnagy puts it this way, "Social Engineering is any act that influences a person to take an action that may or may not be in their best interest." (Social Engineering, The Science of Human Hacking).

Understanding how people end up providing information they shouldn't is important.

Without this understanding, you can't teach your kids what to watch out for, or why doing something that looks harmless is a bad idea.

  1. The videos here will provide examples pulled from social media and other resources.
  2. The "Travel Game" section is intended for you to help you kids understand what information someone could use through the power of observation.
  3. The eMail Section will walk you through real emails and we will analyze them for content and intent.
